The return.
it is with a heavy burden that i write this entry. over the past year or so i have increasingly become aware of the losing battle that we as supporters of the King of Kings are faced with. to date i have been lucky to serve with some of the great warriors of our time... however this is slowly becoming an excersie that is floundering.
i have spoken with many people over the past 2 years about the thought of continuing my ministry degree, some giving me curry others encouragement. yesterday i had a meeting a Whitley college as to the opportunities for me to gain some extra training in the area's of ministry. i am considering the master of divinity course and the ordination stream as a possible part of my continued personal and professional growth and for the purposes of the war that is happening now and the continued struggles that i believe are coming sooner than the scholars are predicting.
i ask for your thoughts and prayers as well as your advice. i could really use it at the moment.
All battles are fought by scared men who'd rather be some place else, but in this kind of war, you've gotta believe in what you're fighting for.

Would it help to define the purpose behind your choice?
Do you want to continue studying for personal development reasons, job opportunity/satisfaction reasons, other reasons?
I always thought you wanted to be inamongst the youngins-in-trouble, social working "it up" :)

fair questions! a little from column a and a little bit from column b.
your right i do want to be amonst the youngins... but there is also a life expectancy for a youth worker. my big dream is to open a drop-in centre for these guy in the eltham-ish area at some stage.
to this end i think continuing my theol./min. studies would be a great help as i intend for the centre to have a christian flavour.
both of your thoughts (personal development and job ops/satisfaction) are at the fore front of my mind. it would open up many more doors for me in the future and like i said there is a l;ife expectancy for youth workers!

I'll be thinking of you and praying for you. I hope God shows you the right path. Don't try to do too many things at once!
